I would not recommend Westchester at Peachtree Valley to my worst enemy

This seemed like a really great place to live...until we moved in!

Regarding security .HA! What security'!'!' The front gate leading into the property is broken once every week or so due to people tailgating to get inside. Recently a visitor at the callbox almost sideswiped my car trying to pull in front of me after I used my remote to open the gate.

There have been numerous problems with car break-ins and one case of car theft back in Feb 09. My license plate has been vandalized (bent in half so that it stuck our from my trunk at a 90 degree angle). I don't know if the person was trying to steal it or just being a jerk. I'm guessing the latter as I noticed several other residents had broken license plate frames.

What bothers me IMMENSELY, though, are the regularly occurring apartment break-ins! Check with the police precinct in this neighborhood to verify--it's true! Burglars are popping open deadbolts and stealing Westchester residents right and left. It seems to occur mostly when residents are at work. And since the break-ins began a few months ago I have once seen a police officer standing at the gate when I came home around 6pm. For a couple of days I also saw a security guard who mostly sat in his car near the gate. I do not feel safe living here. I keep my cell phone with me at all times and sleep with a knife on my nightstand in the event I need to protect myself from an intruder when my husbands works nights.

I also find it really odd that Westchester at Peachtree Valley is only partially fenced--there is a complete lack of fencing on the back right side which connects our property to a lower end apartment property called The Brookwood or something like that. This dumpy neighboring property sits adjacent to an even dumpier property called The Darlington which is a well known for drug activity. (A man was murdered in The Darlington not too long ago)

Noise and break-ins aside, if you move into Westchester at Peachtree Valley I hope you like centipedes! Centipedes which seem to number in the millions first invaded our breezeways and can now be found crawling all over the inside of our unit. I find them in the tiles and walls of the kitchen and bathroom and also see them crawling across the carpet in the living room, bedrooms and even our closets. They have literally invaded every single room in our unit!

It disgusts me that my husband and I pay so money to live in a place where we can t even relax, enjoy a little peace and quiet and feel safe. We really, really hate this place and can't wait to move out when our lease is up!!!!!

P.S. Do not live here :)
