Phipps Place

 

I lived at Phipps Place from January 06-February 07.

I never had any problems with the apartment itself.

I could never hear the neighbors.

The quality of the construction of the building is top notch and the features in the apartments are wonderful (granite countertops, etc).

The pool is very large and well-maintained.

However, this is not the place to live if you ever want to have any social gatherings in your apartment.

We threw one party, which was very much under control, and we received a very nasty letter threatening to kick us out.

Overall, my experiences at Phipps Place were very good, but our greatest problem occurred when we moved out.

The staff claimed that they had to replace all of our carpet due to "pet damage." Well, we did not have a pet.

My roommate dog-sat a 2 pound, tiny dog for two weekends out of the entire year that we lived there.

The carpet had no visible stains on it, but they pulled it back and looked underneath the carpet.

There was evidence of large water stains in a couple of the rooms, including mine, where the dog never entered.

The staff claimed that these all were urine stains...even though there is no way that tiny dog could have produced those giant stains...in addition to the fact that he was highly monitered and never used the bathroom in the apartment.

We were not given back our security deposits and we had to pay an additional $200.

The whole situation was very unfair and left me with a very bad taste in my mouth, even though all my previous experiences had been very good.
