Pretty good, but rent with caution!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I lived at Post Biltmore for two years and can say that overall, it was a good experience. The location is the true perk of the complex and is really what you will be paying so much for-tons of great restaurants, stores and attractions (like Fox Theater) all within walking distance. I was an undergrad over at GT and walked to school everyday. The actual apartments themselves are average, and my two bedroom apartment had some weird issues, like interior doors not shutting completely (unless I locked them, they would open spontaneously) and some little annoying things, like really, really cheap blinds. Since I faced the south, towards downtown, the sun was super bright and heated up the apartment. Also, since I overlooked 6th St., Halo, the night lounge/club, was a horrific facility to live over. The first year I lived there, Halo was not an issue at all. But I guess business boomed because by the second year, no matter what day of the week, there was loud music, loud patrons and cars honking and/or with alarms going off at late hours. When I complained to management about the noise, I was told that I was "forewarned" about Halo when signing my lease, although I hadn't been. So, if offered an apartment on that side of the building, assess how lightly you sleep and if that will be an issue for you-really, don't think it won't be an issue because it can upset your life and test your sanity.
Speaking of management, the best employee that I encountered at Post Biltmore, Chris, left about half way through my second year of living there. He left the company all together, but really was the great go-to employee. Some of the employees there were a little pretentious for apartment management staff (last time I checked, customer service and paperwork isn't rocket science) so I never completely understood their vibe. And while the place is great for dog owners ( I had two), there was a very bizarre resident who was DEATHLY afraid of my dogs (even though they were leashed and always very calm) and was really quite annoying, but that is, I hope, an isolated event. Therefore, if you do not like dogs, Post Biltmore is big dog friendly and many apartment complexes in midtown are not, so rent there instead!
Parking was never an issue, except when Halo patrons felt the need to try and get into the parking deck without remotes (not too sure what they were thinking) and cause you to have to back out so that they could get out...depending on my mood, this sometimes infuriated me. Also, this is random but one of the postal workers was particularly evil (when I was anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter from graduate school, he was always rude and sent me away instead of just giving me my mail).
I no longer live in Georgia but after graduation from graduate school would consider living in Atlanta again however I would most likely not live at Post Biltmore again because the rent is really high and seems to have exceeded the rate of inflation. That is another thing-expect your rent to sky rocket every year (I think mine went up two hundred dollars in between the two years I lived there). Also, Midtown traffic is hell from what I understand thanks to all of those new condos. And no, you did not just overlook the pool and/or tennis courts-they aren't there! Again, assess the cost of rent and how much you enjoy those amenities.
So, if you can afford it and think you will benefit from the location (with these gas prices, having the ability to walk to work or school should be a key factor), go for it.
