No way

Years at this apartment: 2005-01-01 - 2007-01-01
I reached my limit with Post Briarcliff and the incompentency of management. Post runs what I call a sucker scheme. They offer unbelieveable deals to lure you in and then as quick as they can raise the rent back to market rate. I don't mind subtle rent increases but 25% over two years is a bit much
I had a number of encounters with the management staff from them losing my deliveries to not even knowing if I was a resident. I walked in the office three consecutive days over the summer and was asked three seperate times if I was interested in renting an apartment. They have NO clue who is a resident and who is not. I have rented for over 10 years and NEVER had a problem getting to know my leasing agents or having them take care of problems.
Over the summer my air conditioner broke. I returned home to find my apartment at 88 degrees. The maintenance man on call asked me if it was ok if he came in the morning because he was about to have dinner. Then he became upset because I said that I wanted it fixed that night. My apartment had a number of issues ranging from faulty wiring in some of the lighting, dishwasher broke twice, sink and bathtubs are constantly clogging. Personally I expect more out of a complex like this
Two issues made me reach my boiling point. There was a series of break-ins over the summer. Without consulting residents, the management decided to close the back gate at night (which is a benefit of the complex as it bypasses a congested intersection). There was no resident input or discussion...it was a unilateral decision. Finally, the office is only open during the week from 10-6. No one makes it home by 6 in this city so getting packages and taking care of issues is nearly impossible (they are short staffed on Saturday). I pulled into the parking lot at 6:03 one afternoon, got out of my car and saw the leasing agent look me in the eyes, lock the door and walk out the back door to the office. The management staff has NO professionalism.
The complex caters to graduate students. I would dare saw that a number of undergrads live her too. Parking is an issue at night. The pool is rarely ever clean. There are only 2 garbage bin on the grounds so on the weekend they are overflowing and it stinks for a few days.
I had it with the complex and gladly broke my lease. There are at least half a dozen comparable complexes within half a mile of here. They all lease for less and have competent staff. Looks aren't everything here, I would look elsewhere.
