Post Briarcliff is extremely overpriced for the size of the apartments, quality of the appliances and fixures, and amenities of the building. I am moving after 2 years of living there because I have had enough. My rent is currently at $859 for a one bedroom apartment approx. 700 sq. ft. In April, I recieved a notice that my rent would be increasing to $970/month for a 12 month lease. This is for the same old wood/vinyl cabinets and countertops in the kitchen, older model appliances, cheap window coverings, and basic fixtures in a tiny bathroom. Post was convenient while I was in school, but you can find many more affordable apartments of the same quality (interior) as Post, and many with 10X the amenities at the same price. I have a friend who is living in an apartment complex nearby and she has wireless/cable, trash pickup, and laundry service included in her rent. Additionally, w/d came with her apartment wasn't asked to rent one for 30/month.

Also, there have been a string of break ins around the property and I am not just talking car break ins, people's apartments were getting broken into. Six I believe in one month.

Having said that, they have made security changes, and common sense, such as don't leave your laptop in your car, and you'll should be relatively safe.

A lot of residents are moving out, many like me who were lured by the many amenities that I haven't used since the first year I lived there. Many because of the pricing/rent increases. Anyone who has lived in Atlanta knows you can get much more for similar price.

I like to call it ala carte living.

Near Emory you will be hard-pressed to find a gated community that offers the convenience and prices that Post Briarcliff offers. I have lived there for 2 years in 2 different units - a 2 br and a 3br and have had no issues. They installed crowbar barriers on the doors and have done a lot to improve the security but honestly...nice places with nice cars are going to be lures for people to break-in. I am moving out due to a home purchase but I would extend my lease here if that were not in the cards. I do have to say that the prices have gone up quite a bit. At least 5-10% a year which is really uncool. But in Atlanta you have to move every year to get a deal. They take advantage of people who want to stay.
