I rented a 2BR/2BA unit at Post Briarcliff for two years, and was overall happy with my stay there. To elaborate on the good and bads:

-Noise. Never an issue for us; it was the quietest apartment we've ever lived in...I should note that our unit did not face the main street AND we were on the top floor. I'd definitely recommend top floor. The only noise issue we had was sometimes the pipes in the ceiling would make loud creaking noises.--Kind of odd, but not a big deal.

-Parking. Around our building (1300), parking was never a problem. We were always able to find a spot on the east side of the building very close to the staircase. Note, there are no elevators at Post Briarcliff.

-Apartment condition. Great upon movein; carpets looked new and paint was fresh. Appliances were all clean and very well-maintained. After two years, the carpet was a *tiny* bit warped in a couple high traffic areas, but no biggie.

-Maintenance. We only had 2-3 minor maintenance issues that were all handled promptly. We had issues with ants/bugs a few times, but Post always had our place sprayed ASAP (they have a professional exterminator that comes to the property 2 times a week).

-Amenities. The pool area and fitness center were quite nice and kept very clean -- I even saw the janitor in the fitness center spraying down the equipment on several occasions. Nice!

-Location. The complex was very convenient to the Kroger, Whole Foods, Starbucks, and several restaurants. Complex is not convenient to MARTA subway. There are LOTS of good shortcuts to downtown/midtown for rush hour commuting.

-Crime. I was at Post during winter 2008, when there were indeed a string of 2-3 armed robberies at the mailhouse area. (Armed = guns presented). Yes, that period was very scary, but I felt that Post did what they could within reason...They hired a night watchperson and installed some cameras on the property. AND, the culprit of the crimes was apprehended. It's Atlanta, so crime is an issue regardless of where you live! Before the armed robberies, there were also a few car breakins and house breakins while we lived there; Post was quick to post fliers about these incidents, and installed additional security features on everyone's front doors. For the car/house breakins, however, they did not hire additional security, which made some residents annoyed. I would check with Post to see if they still maintain a night guard -- I would hope they do, because that seemed to be a big crime deterrent!

-Cost. Rent was $1195 our first year, and we renewed for $1265 for the second year. I thought it was fair. Yes, there are better deals around, but I felt Post was worth the extra $$ each month!

Overall, I would definitely rent from Post Briarcliff again

Post Briarcliff is overpriced, and unsafe. Do NOT live here. I'm moving after this year because it is so bad. They wouldn't let me out of the lease, otherwise I'd already be gone.
