Not that bad...

People are really exaggerating on here. All in all, Post is a decent place to live in Atlanta and is one of the best deals I found. It's pretty cheap for what you get. That said, the girls in the office are needlessly rude, office hours (10am-6pm) are completely inconvenient for any working adult, parking is impossible if you get home after about 7:30 pm and the crime in the area has been pretty scary lately.
Our rent checks were "stolen" from the drop box once, and when we asked them to reimburse us for the stop check fee that we would have to pay the bank, they threatened us with "We don't even know for sure that you really dropped the check off. We could still charge you the late rent fee." --Even though they admitted that a large chunk of other rent checks had been "stolen" too. Classy, Post. Real classy.
The pool and landscaping is nice, and there are cute little grilling areas around the complex. The area is right next to a Whole Foods, which is convenient. I've left my bike unlocked for months and it hasn't been stolen, and I've had several packages left on my door for hours without being stolen, so I feel that my neighbors are pretty trustworthy. No undergrads live in the complex but there are a lot of grad students, young professionals, and a few families. All pretty nice people.
Some more cons: there are pretty frequent problems with the access gates, the visitor box messes up quite a bit, and we've had a lot of problems with ants coming in through the window (though mgmt is decently responsive about that). Also, there have been several break-ins and a couple assaults in the past few months, so that's pretty scary. I know it's Atlanta and there will always be crime, but I do feel that they could step the security up a little bit. But all in all, I can't really fault Post for the crime and like I said, it's a decent place to live.

Not that bad but not that good either eh? The rude trailer trash in the leasing office as well as all the shortcomings of the property did it for me. You should really do some price comparisons for other properties out there. While square footage for square footage the prices are similar for other communities you get a better unit at other complexes. At Post you get cheap bottom of the line white cabinets cheap vinyl kitchen floor and cheap berber carpet. At a similar community you can pay less for the same amount of space and have a much nicer unit. When I moved out of Post Briarcliff I was paying $200 a month less for a unit with real tile floors and real WOOD cabinets and a lot of other upgrades and extras.
And to the people in the leasing office. Bleached blonde hair, a leased Mercedes and a bad attitude does not make you a Professional. Get over yourselves. You work a customer service job at an Apartment complex! If you think your such hot stuff get a real job!

i can't believe this person spent the entire review pointing out all the problems at Post Briarcliff, and still recomends it! I feel differently, I've delt with a lot of those problems, and some other ones, and it was more than enough to say NO WAY!

I'm the original poster--I pointed out the problems at Post Briarcliff because I think it would be helpful for potential renters to know, but overall I don't hate living there and I would renew my lease if I were staying in the area. Those problems do exist but they have mostly been isolated frustrations, not things that have affected my day-to-day life there.

Thank you for all the information. In fact, I am about to sign a lease in Post Briarcliff and the area looked decent and safe me. Surprisingly, the staff were very nice when I came by last week to see the apartment. I guess all of them are, to get your money.
I visited several other properties and Post was one of the appealing ones in terms of the area, apartment and more importantly the kind of people who live in these apartments. I am a single professional female, and the are and neighbors are very important to me in deciding a place to live.
If I do not consider Post, can you people give me any other better apartment complexes?
Thanks!
