Ok, but far from good/great

Overall, I have enjoyed living at Post. It is always clean, neighbors courteous, and pool/grills fun. The two major downsides are dealing with the management, and the wave of crime that has hit the complex.
1. Crime- While it looks very nice, in the last year Post has had a stabbing, 3 armed robberies in the parking lot, and countless car break ins and home break ins. And this brings us to management. Despite the crime, they refuse to put a full-time attendant working the gates. They beef up security for a couple weeks after each crime, but never make it permanent.
2. Dealing with management- it is a nightmare (maintenance crew is great though, respond super fast). They are often rude, and very rarely are helpful. They will get you will all sorts of rules. For example, they want 60 days move out notice, or you are rent responsible. For crime, they simply say, "there is nothing we can do about it," instead of beefing up security.
I personally never had an issue with the crime, but the people who were held up with guns, or got stabbed obviously did.

Typical response from any Post apartment community. They are a big corporation and their primary interest is NOT your safety. It's your monthly rent check. Take a look at their business model for example. Build lush brand new apartment complexes with gardens and pools and over the period of 10 years run them into the ground and sell them off to a lower end community when maintenance costs get out of hand.
They will do anything they can temporarily to give the appearance of being secure. How many lawsuits are in the courts for apartment communities like Post being sued because they would not change light bulbs and someone got killed in a dark corner. What they save in cheaper operation they loose in lawsuits and tenant churn but they still don't care because its still slightly cheaper. It's your life to you but its just business to them.

Are you for real?? What is wrong with Post selling a property when it gets older? The idea makes sense to me. Build a new property, and collect rent for 10 to 20 years, and when it gets older sell it. You would sell your car when it gets older and maintenance costs go up. Is Post required to keep the property until the end of time? Why sould Post not be concerned with your monthly rent check? They don't build these nice, lush communities with gardens and pools for a public service. If you don't like it, why not go live somehwere like The Park at Briarcliff?
