Live somewhere else...Anywhere else...
From: MrMan_AtlDate posted: 4/7/2009
Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2009
So the brief version:
1) When I moved in the apartment needed new carpet and it needed to be painted.
2) Maintenance has on multiple occasions entered my apartment unannounced, tracks mud through the apartment, and leaves no note.
3) Exercise equipment is broken 75% of the time
4) The staff complained when I unlocked and exited out the leasing office door towards the appartment community rather than the front door. The back door had already been locked despite the fact that there was atleast 15 minutes before the leasing office was supposed to close, AND then the staff complained to me about exiting through the door because they'd have to relock it.
5) Rent has gone up a total of 50% in a 4 year period
6) POST uses 10 degree differential airconditioning units (as I've been told). Meaning the airconditioner is made to cool a space 10 cooler than the outside air temperature. The airconditioning on the top floor cannot keep my apartment below 80 degrees on hot summer days.
7) A pipe burst above a neighbor's apparment (4th floor) and water was running down an interior and exterior wall from the 4th floor down. The fire alarm went off, and continued to sound for 5-10 minutes before I walked up to the leasing office. In the leasing office I found 3 (yes 3!!!) staff members sitting around chatting having a grand old time. I asked them if they were aware a pipe had burst. They said yes and that Maintenance had been alerted. I thought that when I would go back to my appartment that maintainance have the situation under control. When I got back to my apartment I past the Maintenance guy who was running towards the leasing office. About 5 minutes later he came back with a key to key into the apartment with the burst pipe. After inspecting the apartment (to ensure there was not a fire), he then had to run back to the leasing office to get the key to turn off the water. Finally he came back with the key to turn off the water and then had to call someone to figure out how to do it. The maintenance guy was fine, but while he was running back and forth to the leasing office (multiple times) the 3 (yes, I repeat 3) staff members were having a grand old time chatting while 3 apartments were being flooded.
The point being... Live somewhere else...anywhere else. I hate moving. Absolutely hate it. But I've gotten to the point where I'd rather move then live here longer.
