Great Place; Maintenance Extremely Prompt

My husband and I have lived at Post Gardens for a year. We're leaving to move to DC (my Atlanta job was just for a year). We love the apartment community. It's quiet. We've only heard music once when the tenants above us were having a party. But, instead of complaining, we simply walked upstairs and asked them to turn it down a bit. And the tenants politely complied. As long as neighbors are mature, they can usually peacefully resolve any problems without management interference. And the walls are pretty thick between apartments. Every now and then we can hear the people above us walking in their apartment. But we don't hear it very often, and the noise is faint.

The apartment complex has been around for a few years, and we had the unfortunate luck of getting an apartment that had a few problems (but not when we got it -- the problems started 6 months into our lease). First, one of our bathroom sinks started to rust on the bottom. We called maintenance, and they came that day and put in a replacement sink. Then, the same week our dishwasher started leaking. The maintenance came shortly after we called them and tried to fix the problem (we didn't know at first that it was the dishwasher). Once they realized it was the dishwasher, the maintenance guy ordered a new dishwasher and within a week had installed a brand new appliance. Then the same week, our kitchen sink started leaking, and, again, the maintenance guy had it repaired within 24 hours. Now I know that may sound like a lot of repairs but it really wasn't. Those are the only problems we've had (our lease ends soon). And we were impressed that even though everything happened within 10 days, the apartment people never once looked frustrated with us and they always promptly fixed the problem.

Another good thing, the management seems to respond well to tenant desires. Each month they send a survey with your bill asking how things are and what changes you'd like to see. A month or so ago, the management put in a car wash station in response to tenant requests. My husband loves it! No more driving to a car wash.

Another thing, I love the fitness center. And, again in response to tenant requests, the management just put in four new treadmills (much quieter than the old ones), two new stairsteppers, and new barbell and dumbbell sets. They also bettered the sound system by giving each television an fm station. Now you can tune in to any television you want.

We liked Post Gardens so much, my husband and I tried to find a Post property in DC but alas, the one we found, Post Pentagon, is far to expensive. It'd cost us as least twice what we're paying now to get the same apartment in DC.

That's all I can think of. Oh, and the parking is ample. We never have trouble finding a spot. And, even though they have visitor parking on the lowest level of the garage, there's so much parking that your visitors can always find a spot on your level.
