The specials here can be great, but the rent increases upon renewal are EXORBITANT! My first lease was $1100 for a 2 bdrm.

I am approaching my 3rd lease and the offer is around $1350! Also the late rent policy is - can you afford to pay a $135 late fee' For these rates I can live in much more desirable areas of town.

There have been multiple car break ins and even car thefts since I moved here.

They are finally addressing this by installing a guard post at the entrance gate.

Management is unsympathetic and unorganized.

They do not inform you when packages arrive.

The pool is beautiful but crowded - people wake up early on weekends and put out towels to try to reserve a spot.

So how would you rate the safety, I am a single female relocating to ATL and safety is big issue, what are the "more desirable areas" and are they safer?

Although I do live with my fiance, I frequently walk our dogs alone when he's out of town, and I feel safe in this complex and most of the Lenox Park area. Of course, I wouldn't go out to park alone at night, but the sidewalks in the early mornings and evenings are well-lit. The area is clean and I've had no experience with any theft or break-ins. (Knock on wood!!) Also, that Post Gardens responded to resident feedback by putting the time and money into shutting down the back entrance gate and hiring a guard for the late evening and early morning hours seems like a good sign to me. Also, there are single-family residential neighborhoods a little ways down on Lenox Park Blvd, so during the days there's a very pleasant atmosphere, with joggers out and families walking their dogs. I love Lenox Park!! One area in Atlanta I would stay away from in particular, though, is the developing area on Highland Ave, near Boulevard on the cusp of Inman Park (i.e., Mariposa Loft Apts, Highland Walk). While the area is up-and-coming, I lived there as a single female and didn't feel safe at all, as close as I was to Boulevard I could always hear shouting from loiterers under the bridge, and there were frequent thefts and car break-ins.
