Hello,
I am relocating to Atlanta soon. Currently I am in the process of searching a good apartment complex for me and my family. My focal point in the apartment search is good schooling for my children who go to elementary school. I am searching for a 3 bedroom single level apartment or townhome in an apartment complex which is safe, with decent amenities, bug free, good maintenance, no hidden fees, etc. This place is among my top choice. However, with such disparate views from the residents of this apartment community I am really confused. I seek feedback from my would-be fellow neighbors. Please advice whether I should rent an apartment here?
Cheers!!

Just please know that the people posting reviews on this Complex are not doing so because they have a ton of free time and think its fun. They're posting these honest reviews because they seriously want to warn others of the awful truth about Post Gardens. I would hate to see your family get screwed out of money in this terrible economy by this terrible complex. Be very smart about your decision, take the reviews of this complex to heart. You will regret it if you don't.

Don't! Please don't subject your family to Post Gardens. It's got nothing that you want on your list -- there are so many insects, car break-ins, horrible maintenance lag, and they'll charge you for EVERYTHING when you move out. Please, please, please, pick somewhere else.

Post Gardens is pretty decent for an apartment in Atlanta and the Sarah Smith school district is definitely what you want. Just know that the complex is not really geared for children. The pool and courtyard are dominated by drunken frat boys and their girlfriends on the weekends and this is the lifestyle that management caters to, so don't expect any sympathy complaining about raucous behavior by fellow residents. The 3 bedroom floorplan is great, though, and nearby Lenox Park is excellent for the whole family. I expect there will be a lot of construction at Post Gardens soon as Post is replacing all the fake stucco which makes up this community due to water leakage, and there is a real mold problem here. See this news story: http://www.ajc.com/business/content/business/stories/2008/11/04/post_properties_repair.html So the bottom line is if you can put up with irresponsible recent college grads with rich parent flipping the bill for their rents, Post Gardens is actually a nice place. The biggest problem is noise insulation between units up and down, you WILL hear your upstairs neighbors, and if you have children, your downstairs neighbors will definitely hear you and perhaps complain about you (but don't worry, because the staff won't do anything about the complaints anyway). If you can deal with that and the fact that this place is really not geared for kids, you'll be fine. I'd say it's worth highly considering, especially to get your kids into Sarah Smith, but I would definitely move before they have to go to Sutton! Finally, I'd say Post Gardens is safe (aside from the mentioned car break-ins, which tend to happen everywhere), the exterminator takes care of bugs, and maintenance is responsive even if they do have a tendency to fix rather than replace aging appliances. I plan to move out before the major stucco construction begins, but if that project won't bother you and you can afford the 3 bedroom, I've had a pretty good overall experience with Post. Of course, I haven't moved out yet, so if the move out charges are true, I may have a different opinion in a few months.

Maybe if you were a college kid you could spell inconsiderate correctly. I didn't have to pay a deposit since I am a preferred employer. I drive a BMW, walk my dog in Lenox Park, and I am glad you moved too.
