First off, yes, the apartments are very nice. I absolutely love the actual structure. The ladscaping is beautiful and the apartments are spacious, comfortable, quiet and nice.

But the things that I wish I knew before I moved in are, of course, the downsides. Price. Yes, I know what I signed to pay when I moved in, it's not cheap but it's a gated complex in a really great area and a huge apartment. The part I didn't know was that in order to renew my lease, I would have to accept an 8, yes 8, percent rent increase. Do the math, that's a lot on a $1300 apartment.

Utilities. You don't get to pick. You will have Bellsouth for your phone, cable and internet. If I had known this, I honestly would not have moved here. This end up costing more money each month because it forces you to have a land line phone and DSL even if you are a young professional like me and use your cell phone for everything. I pay about $30 a month with all the fees for a phone that I never use, plus the DSL cost. And of course, if you're used to cable internet, DSL is a bit of a drag. $65 a month for internet... and **Bellsouth's faster DSL option is not available in this area yet**.

Cable. Bellsouth cable SUCKS. No BBC America, no travel channel, no on demand, no DVRs available and about 1/4 of the choices for channels that people I know with other cable companies have. The on-screen guide freezes up from time to time and looks very outdated. But, you have no choice. I have called so many other companies and they cannot service this complex. Ride around, you'll notice far more sattellite dishes than normal.

Noise. I have NO noise inside of my apartment... none... but for some odd reason, people occasionally like to yell at each other in the parking lot at about 3 AM. It's just slightly annoying and I could easily do without it.

I still have 2 months to accept my rent increase and I'm not sure if I am going to do it. I hate the idea of moving again so soon but that's a huge premium to pay.
