Nice, but too expensive, rent increases are unreal

I'm nearing the end of over 2 year with Post Glen so I thought it was time to write a review. The apartment is lovely, I have tons of space, it's quiet for the most part and I'm very comfortable here.... too bad they care nothing about keeping me here. I pay my rent early, never had any kind of complaint against me yet, as others have stated, they make NO effort to keep good renters at the property.

I received my price listing a few days ago that tells me what the apartment will cost if I decide to renew, of course I'm not going to. I'm sorry that I can't afford $100 increase on my rent each year. I managed to talk them down to about $60 last year but to me, that is still a lot.

What ever happened to resident retention' Wouldn't you want to keep good renters' At my last apartment complex, I renewed with a $15 a month increase and they even left a nice gift basket on my doorstep to thank me for staying another year. When I renewed yet again, they gave me a few coupons to use for discounts on my rent. $100 off to use on any month I choose is a great gift.

I don't want to move, I really like my apartment, but paying $200 more than what I originally rented the apartment for is insane. It's also quite discouraging to look at their prices online and see the exact same floorplan as mine listed for less than they are offering it to me.

Other things about the complex... the landscaping is nice, I really like walking to Marta and the shops next door. Unlike others have said, I do feel safe walking around here. Comcast is sooooo much better than Bellsouth. Bellsouth was a nightmare and I will never have service with them again. One other problem is the lack of speed bumps in the parking lot. People tend to make the tight turns in the lot quickly without even looking and I have had a few VERY close calls. My boyfriend was almost hit last night by someone who swung over into the other lane while coming around the corner. Watch out, it's very unsafe.

One last thing, the carwash. Do not expect to wash your car if it's anywhere under 60 degrees. They turn the water off because "pipes might freeze" :cough:BS, this is Georgia:cough: and it's "too much trouble to turn it back on" so they turn it off at first sign of cold and refuse to turn it back on until it's hot again. I discovered this on a 60 degree November day and was quite unhappy to pay for an amenity that I can't use for 4 or 5 months. What is so hard about turning the darn knob and cutting the water back on when we aren't having freezing temps' I lived in Indiana and our car wash was on more (seriously, not exaggerating here). So, in the winter you have no access to outside water. You can't simply wash some bird poo off of your car or give the whole car a bath on warmer days.

I read a posting that this area was unsafe, with all the homeless ,etc. I am a single female relocating to ATL and safety is a big deal.
