This place is a ripoff - charges for EVERYTHING

I've been here for a few months and I think I have already decided not to renew my lease next year... Not only are the apartments poorly built, NO parking and a lot of noisy neighbors and trains/MARTA, Post tries to slap on any kind of charge on you that they can.
For example, I signed up for an automatic debit to pay my rent when I moved in. I always stop by at the first of the month to make sure everything is OK with the debit. One month, they said "no problem," and three days later I got a NASTY letter from the manager saying that I did not pay my bill and was responsible for paying the rent plus 10%.
I have been in to talk to them and they say that I am responsible for ensuring that the debit is OK (even though I did). As of now, the 10% charge still stands, I think I will have to talk to the corporate people and get this removed.
Post also likes to charge you about 2.5x the going rate for water and sewage, although they tell you they charge you what it costs them. Either way I have been getting $70 and $80 water bills every month for one person and an occasional visitor (only a couple of days per month on avgerage). They came and checked for leaks and left finding nothing. On the monthly statements, they show what they are charging. Calling to neighboring apartment complexes and finding their rates, you see that Post charges about 2 to 2.5x the actual rate.
Post also charges you a non-refundable $400 pet fee, which is regardless of whether or not your pet causes any damage. I have a cat who never causes any problems but still was responsible for paying $400. I'd like to know where this money goes. I know it didn't go to replacing carpets for those people who did have pets, because the carpet in my apartment was full of pee stains and smells bad when it rains outside. It took them 2 months to realize that it needed to be replaced, but they ended up just steam cleaning. The spots are gone, but still smells horrible when it rains outside.
I'm upset with Post, and should have checked the reviews here when thinking about moving in. I understand that they have to charge people for things (or else they wouldn't make money), but doing some research on Post Properties, you will find out that their CEO just got a huge bonus (almost $2 million) last year, even after laid off some employees.
Thank you, Post, for making my first year in Atlanta a total financial nightmare.
