I moved into the Post Lindbergh apartments in April of 2007. The leasing office staff at that time was great. I had a 3 bedroom apartment that had cheap fixtures in all the rooms. My partner and I had changed out the light fixtures, the facets in the kitchen and bathrooms, and even replaced the knobs on the cabinet doors. The staff loved our apartments so much, they asked if they could use our apartment as a model. On several occasions they would call and ask if they could show our apartment, and to be helpful to them we agreed. Because the staff was so nice we didnt really mind. As the year went on, the staff changed and none of the original staff remained in the office.
There was a large increase in crime within our complex. Several cars were being broken into. My car was one of them. I parked just next to the main gate where there is suppost to be a security guard. Oh yeah, they have them on rare occasion at night, but only for a week or so. I have seen security during the day. Several apartments were broken into. To remedy the situation, the said they were going to change out the door locks, and install special anti-pry blocks in the doors. about 6 months after everyone else had the anti-pry block installed, mine was installed. They had ran out of them. The door locks were never changed. When my car was broken into, there was a camera from the main gate aiming in the direction of where my vehicle was. They dont record them. My vehicle was one of 5 cars broken into that particular day. The letters from the office about breakins was being sent out about every week. Your safety isnt a concern for the staff there.
The neighbors can be heard easily though out the apartment. When the people upstairs walked, it would rattle the pictures on the walls.
As the staff changed, most of the new staff was very rude and unprofessional. I got a bill for 1900.00 for my rent for the last 2 months i lived there. When i went to ask why the rent was so high, the staff member became hateful and said no you owe 2100.00 I was in shock. From 1495 to 2100. Does the phrase Oh my god mean anything. She was very unprofessional, and started to give attitude. I asked her to check her figures.. and of course she had mis calculated. I still had a 1900.00 rent.
At the time of moving out, I have pretty much been a clean freak. Making sure everything was better than when i moved out. On the exit walk through the guy that works in the office did the walk through with me. According to him, any holes in the walls smaller than a quarter are acceptable. Any stains in the carpets even if it is just minor wear and tear, will be taken out of the security deposit. I vaccumed, mopped, and dusted. I made sure that apartment was in better condition than when i left it. I left most of the light fixtures, the facets and knobs on the cabinets. All of which made the apartment much more desirable. I lost my deposit and had to pay an additional $250.00. I was so fed up with this company, I just paid it to be done with it once and for all. There is a checklist of fees for each thing that might be required to clean an apartment. The holes smaller than a quarter cost 150.00 and the carpet was 50.00 and the last part was the water bill.
Please please please whatever you do, DO NOT rent from these people, they just want alot of money for a not so average apartment. You can do so much better with any of the brand new complexes out there.
