My wife and I moved in Post Lindbergh in June of 2007. We lived in Alpharetta, but because she is a student in Atlanta, we decided to move closer so the commute wouldn't be as bad. BIG mistake.
To start, the office staff is probably the most unfriendly and unhelpful staff we have ever encountered. For example, when we moved into our new place, after just a week, some dark stains started to appear in the front area of the carpet. I called and requested that the carpet area be cleaned again and the manager, Katie, told me that the apartment comes "as is" and that I would have to pay out of pocket to get it cleaned again.
Since I am not confrontational, I didn't argue.
About 6 months go by and I hear police cars outside our apartment. I look outside and see that the apartment below me had been robbed and the suspect was jumping over the fence right in front of my eyes, with police behind him with guns drawn.
About another 3 months go by and now it is Marta police jumping over our fence looking in our bushes right next to our bedroom looking for a suspect.
To top it off, there was a suspected arson attempt 4 buildings down where someone stacked some cardboard boxes in the breezeway and caught them on fire. The breezeway caught fire and one apartment was destroyed and about 9 fire trucks had to respond.
And last, many car break ins. Probably 2 dozen car break ins and 6 apartment break ins.
In August of this year, we broke our lease and moved back to Alpharetta. It cost me over a $1,000 to get out of it, but to sleep peaceful at night and to not have to carry pepper spray with me to the mailbox is well worth the cost.
It was great being close to all the attractions, malls and restaurants, but not worth the risk of being robbed or something even worse.
We still make the commute down, but the extra 20 minutes it takes us is so worth it. Consider Alpharetta, especially Amli apartments. They are well maintained and the staff are extremely helpful and actually care about their residents.
