I found this apartment two years ago through ProMove, which saved me a lot of money, but the average renter at Post Renaissance can look forward to a fairly steep rental rate. This part of Atlanta seems to be on the up, so I would expect rent to maybe increase at a higher rate than inflation over the next few years, especially as the area directly surrounding the complex is renovated and becomes safer. Thankfully, you get a lot for your money.
The complex itself is situated very conveniently for anyone who likes the social scene. You can walk to the historic Fox Theatre in about ten minutes. Peachtree St. is a short 5-10 minute walk. However, the downside of the location is that it's next to Renaissance Park, which is in the process of being renovated as a dog park, but for the time being it's home to a lot of bums. I've seen a lot of very shady individuals outside of the complex, but fortunately we're in a gated community and a security officer patrols the grounds 24/7. In the last year, police presence outside of the premises has noticeably increased in an attempt to further improve the neighborhood.
The office staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and respectful. They do an excellent job of maintaining the grounds. In fact, the grounds are almost over-maintained because the leaf blowers can get quite annoying during the summer. The staff sends out surveys periodically to the residents, and believe it or not, they actually listen and respond. The gas bbq grills located around the premises, as well as by the pool areas, have come in handy on many occasions.
On the downside, the utilities in our apartment are excessive. Electricity and gas bills skyrocket at certain parts of the year. This could be a problem that's unique to my apartment because it faces the south and gets a lot of sunlight, but keep an eye out for utilities anyway.
The apartments themselves are in good condition, the appliances are fairly typical: not too good, not too bad. For some reason, the air filter in our unit needs constant replacing.
On a more delicate note, the apartment complex seemed to cater to the --- community when we first moved in and still does to some degree, but in the last year it has become much more well-rounded. Regardless of your orientation, just be aware of this fact.
All in all, I would highly recommend this apartment to others. The grounds are good and this area of Atlanta is on the up and up. Expect prices to concurrently increase. Staff is awesome. Utilities seem very high. The apartment units are in good shape.
