Excellent Apartments, Reasonable Prices, Bad Management

I've live in Post Ridge for a just over two years now, and I am very happy with the physical conditions of the complex. Maintenance is quick and courteous, the apartmens are well maintained and well constructed, and the appliances work well. The complex is very safe and I occassionally see Cobb County Police patrolling (which is rare for a gated community). So far I've never heard of any crime in the complex. The neighbors are friendly and the common areas (tennis courts, pool, workout room, etc) are well maintained, clean, and organized.

The location is excellent with under 20 minutes to downtown, even during rush hour.

The biggest issue, though is with the management staff. Since the latest manager took over, there has been a noticable drop off in the quality of management-tenant interactions. For instance, on a recent intracomplex move, the management staff correctly started billing me for my new apartment, but failed to register my moveout date on the old apartment. As a result, I had to fight for over a month with Post's corporate office to assure them that I was not occupying two different apartments for a month. The manager was no help and had the audacity to claim that I was lying. That is but one of 6 separate "run ins" I had with management staff in the last six months (none before that). Another run in: when I moved to my new apartment, they gave me the key to the wrong apartment (the neighbor's -- how safe). When I went to return the key, the office was closed. When I called Post's number, they refused to assist because they "don't do lockout service". After finally getting ahold of the emergency maintenance staff, he understood the situation and drove 45 minutes to the complex to give me the correct key. He was furious, though, because it turns out I literally live next door to the leasing agent who told me that she doesn't "do lockout service" and she was home. It would have been a less than 5 minute fix for her. And I have 4 more issues that are equally unbelieveable.

All-in-all, I would recommend the complex because of it's other redeeming qualities. It is a shame, though, because we moved to a Post property initially specifically for good customer service.

In response to your recent posting about "bad management" at our community on this site and your recent "lock-out" problem, I would just like to say that, first of all, I knew nothing of your lock out at the time. Our maintenance staff gets paid to respond to calls and come out (even if it is a 45 minute drive for them) to help with emergencies after hours. We do not get informed of these issues. They do. It is their job. I know that you think it may have only taken a "less than 5 minute fix" for me to take care of your problem but, since I was not informed of this issue, I could not fix it for you. If our maintenance man thought that I should have helped, he should have called or knocked on my door once he was there. I am not the leasing agent that gave you the incorrect key in the first place, and I am not the person who told you that we "don't do lockout service". I'm sure that if I was aware of your problem and could have helped, I would have. If you want to talk about someone not doing his or her job, make sure that you have the right person to blame before you go firing insults online on their incompetence and ill cooperation.

Well I was considering looking at this apartment community since I am looking for an apartment at this time, however, after reading the response to the above tenant's review, I don't think I want to look here. There was nothing friendly or curteous about that response. As a matter of fact, it was ghetto and rude! Thanks to your sharp tongue, mam, you just proved the tenant's point. I am a registered nurse and I deal with unfriendly people all day every day and no matter how rude a patient is to me, I would never respond to them the way you just did. You are unprofessional and uncaring. You should be ashamed. How old are you? Like 5!

I think that everyone has a right to defend themselves or their place of business if they think that someone is writing false information for everyone to see. Either way, I'm sure they stay pretty full and have a nice community, and there are always two sides to every story.
