Lived here for 3 years - here's my take

Pros:
Very fast, responsive, and helpful maintenance. I don't think I've ever had maintenance take longer than 24 hours to fix something when necessary.
Large apartments and large walk-in closets. Pretty, well-maintained exteriors.
Convenient location - there is very little traffic in the immediate area around the complex, which means no hassles getting in and out of the complex on the weekends or even during rush hours.
It's gated, and I've never worried about safety.
It is very quiet. The idea that someone here would have a loud party is actually laughable. (See below.) I have never heard any noise from surrounding apartments. Not once in 3 years. Not music, alarms, voices, doors slamming. Nada. However, I live on the top floor. (And evidently the neighbors in the apartment below me have not been able to say the same.) I think that is a function of living in a multi-level unit.
Cons:
Expensive. Very. It is true, you get what you pay for. To an extent. Like all Post Properties, they think they are entitled to demand high rent prices to attract a high calibre of tenant, keep the riff-raff out. They also know that once you're already living there, they can raise the rents (or threaten to raise them) by large margins each year, since they bet that the hassle and expense of moving wouldn't be worth it to you. If you do wind up renting from a Post, and the time for your lease renewal comes around, you'll have to be ready and willing to move out if they try to raise your rent by $100 or $150 more a month. You can't bluff, since they'll likely call, because from their perspective they're holding all the cards. It feels like a cross between highway robbery and extortion because it is.
Insulation in the aprartments is virtually non-existent. In the winter time, you can put your hand up to an electrical outlet and literally feel the wind coming through. During the summer, they heat up like hot boxes.
No social activities for the residents. This is the biggest sticking point for me. I'm not sure the people who live here are interested in being social or even friendly. Over the last year or two, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of tenants who are distinctly foreign, i.e. non-English speaking. (Indian maybe') If you are new to the area, are single, in your 20's or 30's, a fairly sociable sort, and are looking to make friends with your neighbors or meet people in your apartment complex, this isn't the place to do it.
But if you want a safe, quiet, isolated community and don't mind overpaying and feeling at the mercy of management's inevitable rent increases, then Post Ridge is the place for you.

Well, I guess size is relative. Insert your own dirty joke here. ;) I have a 2BR/2BA and live alone, so I guess it seems large. (I previously lived in a 1BR/1BA, so it definitely seemed like an upgrade when I moved in.) Am moving out at the end of my lease. Hopefully on to a more socially active complex...

Agree with all your Pros except large...my judgment is based on dollar:sq footage ratio..and for that..it is definitely not large..
All your Cons...so true..especially with the increase of foreigners--if that is a con for some folk.

Maybe you should try and socialize with the "-------/Foreigners"?!?
