Don't let these reviews scare you--see for yourself!

Apartment reviews always seem to scare me. You think one thing, but then learn something completely different through the reviews. Such is the case with Riverview. I visited the apts last weekend and the grounds were well kept, the leasing staff was friendly and helpful--she showed me four different units right before closing time, and the units were well maintained or either receiving an overhaul. They even offered to change my floor tile if I didn't like it... Water bugs (similar to cockroaches) are to be expected, this is Georgia, I know people who live in pricey Buckhead apts with waterbugs. Thugs' I didn't see any thugs loitering, but I saw young black men going into there apts, so if that's what you call a thug, maybe you shouldn't move here. I also have a friend with two young kids who has lived there for a year and she has had no problem. When she requests maintenance they come, if she's having trouble with something they help. Overall, I think this is a bang for your buck. And I'm moving in next month. It's a good location, has good square footage, with nice features. The only drawback, the one bedrooms don't have W/D connections. Oh yeah, and the gates were broken. :-|

by the way, waterbugs aren't common simply due to being in Georgia. They are common in dirty and unclean places. That comples is filthy and when they renovated, they didn't eradicate the bugs, so they are still there. There ARE thugs there and if you look around at night, you'll see not only the thugs, but the drug deals going down too! Maybe this kind of environment is acceptable and considered nice to people who know no better, but for the rest of us, who want a clean and safe place to live, we'll be elsewhere!
I guess it is to be expected that you would give a nice review having only visited. We'll see what you have to say, if you live there!
The bad reviews are TRUE! I've lived there and even ended up paying for another apartment for the last 5 monts, because I couldn't stand the filth! I'd have rather paid 2 rents than to have stayed there one more night!

Sounds just like one of the staff posted this. I remember her telling me about the 'waterbugs' - those are dam ROACHES just bigger. But that was the exact same comment she made. And is sounds the post sounds exactly like her describing the place.
