I thought I found a great place to live after I moved in...not so much

I'm 23 years old and this is my first apartment and I thought it was great rent is cheap, the property looked clean, and no people walking around at night. However once I moved in I noticed at night there are not enough lights around lighting the property for safety when coming and going from my car. This complex has a lot of dumb rules in the lease like no backing your car into parking spaces. I tried it and got a citation on my car I was not aware of this until they showed me in the lease terms. My next issue is with the leasing office response time to the complaints I make. I made a complaint about the lights on the property when I moved in and called greystone in Nov 2007 to report the problem and they said the office must call I gave the news and the number to the office...long story short the lights got fixed in Feb. 2008 3 months later. Well, while it was still dark in front of my billing in Dec 2007 my car was broken into and as a result I could no longer lock my door because of the damage caused. In Feb. 2008 my neighbor s car was stolen from in front of our building. The gate never works; no one answers the phone in the leasing office probably because there all huddled up at the radio listening to Ryan Cameron radio show. As for the apartment its self location is kind of far from anything, it s very nice, not enough closet space (no lien closet just one bedroom closet). The leasing office also doesn't give you an estimate time when maintenance will come to your unit to fix things so if you have any alarm system like I do maintenance will come when your not home they will enter and set the alarm off and your called and the police all for this mistake. The leasing office's solution to this problem is: "O, well can't you just leave your alarm off for the next 3 day someone should be out to fix it by then." I ll be damned... O yeah and no pets which really sucks I had to get rid of my 6 pound Yorkie named Marley : (
