The old school building that is now home to the Roosevelt loft apartments is full of character. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Aderhold Properties - the company responsible for managing the property. If you move into the Roosevelt, you will quickly discover that Management is indifferent to the fact that the roof leaks, the floor leaks, door knobs are falling off, and the airconditioning works only occassionally. Despite the fact that you'll have to run home and place buckets throughout your apartment to catch the filthy water that pours from the vents in the ceiling everytime that it rains, management will be perfectly content to tell you that they're currently accepting bids to repair the roof - and that they hope to start work IN SIX MONTHS! The stagnant smell that remains in your apartment for weeks after it rains will remind you just how little management cares whether you can actually enjoy your apartment.
The on-site office staff is generally pleasant to deal with, but they are ultimately unable or unwilling to make any real difference. You will be given one excuse after another, but the problems won't be remedied. Calling Aderhold Properties (Polly Finch) directly will not serve you any better.
I strongly suspect that the previous posting praising the improvements made by the "new management" was placed by Aderhold / Roosevelt staff. Any improvement is only on the surface. No matter how well-intentioned the new property manager may be, she does not have the authority to make the improvements and repairs that need to be made.
Save yourself the trouble - DO NOT RENT FROM ANY ADERHOLD PROPERTY.
