ABSOLUTELY NOT

Savannah Midtown looks like a great deal with the free rent and central location, but that's pretty much were the good things stop. The noise inside is awful - you can hear every step, trip to the bathroom, sexual encounter, music and word that goes on above, below and all around you all hours of the day and night. The grounds are filthy - garbage and pet waste on every sidewalk and flower bed; the garage is a big open garbage pit, strewn with debris (including broken bottles, urine, vomit and even a few used condoms) from the previous weekend's festivities. The interior hallways and elevators were also pretty much always absolutely disgusting and filthy. The security guard is an absolute joke. You can buy pretty much any kind of drug you're looking for in that garage too. Especially considering the gates (both walk and drive through) are broken for days at a time. Car break-ins were down, but still happened, although a question like that to the leasing agents will be vehemently denied, as will the garbage, rat, noise and maintenance problems. The entrances are nearly impossible to navigate as the alley between the apartments and the shopping center is laughably narrow and those apartments are of no concern at all to the delivery people. The fire alarm used to go off randomly about 2 or 3 times a week, but thankfully that problem seems to have finally been addressed - and it only took a year of complaints. There is mold growing everywhere around all the windows and exterior walls and also around the a/c closet as my upstairs neighbor's a/c leaks pretty much all the time and runs down my walls and onto my floor and carpet. I've given up complaining about that problem. I called to complain about both up and downstairs neighbors' noise and music at least once or twice a week since I work 9-5 and apparently they don't at all -- and ironically both drive much nicer cars than me. The basketball courts look like they should be in the projects somewhere as they are so destroyed from the people using them - none of whom ever appeared to actually LIVE there. I wouldn't set foot in the "pool" and hot tub as the security camera was broken and never replaced near them, and things could get pretty freaky up there on the weekends. The finishes inside the apartments looked nice at first, but the cabinets are veneer and most of mine have started peeling, the tile and walls are cracked everywhere now and my utility bills are outrageous. The management is so desperate for revenue they are gouging the residents for water and the poor insulation drives up the electric bill. The management is also absolutely awful - everything is never, ever their problem, it's your problem and how dare you bother them with it. I have never been treated as such a pain by apartment management - especially considering it is my rent that helps fund the place. Lincoln was a bit better, but Equity should be sued based on the city's slum laws - because before long those apartments will be a pure slum - stay far away and spend your money somewhere else safe and clean!
