Well, if you are not picky and do not mind some of the little problems that always seem to arise, then move in. If you are okay with arrogant staff, poor maintenance, dog droppings on the sidewalks, dog urine on the stairs, vagrants walking the grounds and crapping in the parking deck, then this is the place for you!! Do you love neighbors with trash on the balconies, throwing food on the sidewalks' Move in!! Do you love fire alarms going off at 2 in the morning on a Sunday/ Monday' How about standing outside waiting for them to reset for an hour in 20 degree temps'' Do you love asking questions only to be ignored' Do you love your neighbors to smoke pot and stink up the halls' How about leaving trash all weekend in the halls with broken bags, juice running down the hall, for THREE WEEKS,...MMMMMM...Move in! You will love it! Do you like being late for work because of all the delivery trucks blocking the entrance and exit to the parking deck' Do you love gym equipment that is broken half the time' How about a security officer that sleeps on the bike and watches t.v. at night' If not, RUN LIKE HELL!! This is not the place for you! It is really sad. It has so much potential. Unfortunatly, it is run by a substandard management company with substandard, piss poor staff! The only good benifit is the landscaping, except for the mountains of dog crap, and the view from the hot tub. Oh, by the way, dont get in the hot tub. It smells like rotten fish! Other than that, it is affordable living for the area, and shows it!

Now, it would not be fair to say all of this without saying the good. It is close to all there is to do in midtown. It is close to the park and the Fox, although I do not recommend walking to either. Ride a bike or drive. It is nice walking to the store right behind the complex. The Walgreen's is open 24 hours, so if you need something quick, it is convenient. The view from the roof is awesome! I love to sit and drink a coffee or beer and just relax. It is a nice way to wind down the day. The noise that I have heard is from the courtyards and the road. Because of the design, everything seems much louder. The pass gate between building 1 and 2 creaked for a month, until I went down there one morning at 2 am and sprayed the hinges with WD-40! Now, much better! Access to the interstate is not too bad, if you go out the lower end of the parking deck. Go out by Washington Mutual and go through the Post office Parking lot. Turn right. It is a straight shot to the interstate. I moved from the Decatur area and used to have to travel 285. Just the shorter time to work almost makes all the other quirks bearable...almost. The flowers and landscaping, in general, is nice. Its the grounds that are not so pleasant. The appliances are okay. The kitchen is pretty dark, so invest in lighting. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. There is a lot of counter and cabinet space in the kitchen. There is minimal storage so make the best of what you have. I recommend buying furniture that has storage built in, like a coffee table/ box or under bed storage. The Closets are very roomy. I was able to get a lot in there, including two dressers!! Still, I would take a trip to Ikea or other storage/ furniture place.

Now take in all of this and make up your mind. If I had to do it all over again, I would not move here. I think I would move next door or down the street at Post. I already have my name in on a three bedroom there with a city view! I can't wait!

* After the last week of events, I highly recommend that everyone that reads this visit the Corporate Website for Equity Residential and voice your complaints. The staff here does not respond on time. However, when I sent an e-mail to the corporate office, I was contacted by the Property Manager the same day. She told me that the e-mail goes to corporate, then to the General Manager and then to her. So, this is a great way of going over the heads of the Management Staff.

A note to the Manager, I understand the difficulty in managing an account such as this. However, it is your responsibility to ensure the safety and tranquility of all your residents. Failure is not an option, excuses not accepted. What will be your excuse when someone gets hit in the parking deck because of the speeders' What will be your excuse when a paying resident is mugged or god forbid, raped and murdered here'' What will be your excuse then' "I didn't know the security guard was sleeping in the fitness center" or, "I didn ont know that people were speeding in the parking decks..." WRONG, you live here, you know or should know! Call your attorney and ask them where the negligence lies when you have been informed (and live on-site with first hand knowledge) of the incidents and your failure to correct the matter lead to a resident being injured. If you can??t handle the account, then step down. There is no shame in asking for help but lots of shame if you don't and fail. Along time ago I had this great supervisor. He gave me a bit of advice that I have carried with me for 10 years. He said, "If you make a mistake, tell someone. If you don't, then it becomes a f*** up. If that happens, I can't help you. Don't let mistakes turn into F*** ups!" (Thank you Steve W.)

Just trying to be helpful. If you don??t know the problem, you can't fix it, right'' Check you e-mail.
Cheers!

Finally - someone who tells the truth!!! You must be the person who left the printout for this website on my doorstep. Amen - whomever you are. I have lived here almost two years and it has been hell. Courtesy officer - what a complete and utter joke. Vagrants, panhandlers, thugs, white trash and the like - and the list goes on and on!!!!

No, I didn't leave the flyer, but am glad that he did!! Just for a follow-up, I called the manager yesterday and complained of loud noise from an apartment and a bag of trash in the hallway that smelled so foul that I gagged! Three minutes later, the lady that took the call left to go home. I know this because my apartment overlooks the office. CAUGHT YOU!!! I can see what they do, or the lack there of! So.. I called their corporate office and complained there. The music was still blasting at 9 that night! This is not an isolated incident either. At 1.30 that afternoon, they were doing the same. I complained at 6:00 pm. I don't think they stopped until around 10:30. However, the trash was removed from the hallway.... gee, thanks.

One more complaint and I will stop, the list is endless... This is for the speeders in the parking deck, If you are reading this, have some respect for your neighbors! Slow down! You almost hit my dog yesterday, WHITE NAVAGATOR, and did not even slow down! THANKS A** HOLE!
