Savannah Midtown is a great location - the apartments are nice, there's a garage, and the roof is sweet, but with the good come the bad.
The security at SM is extremely slack - There are breakins in apts and cars on a regular basis but your apartment has a security sytem - You should definitely use this. There are constant police sirens and street noise as well as lod squeaky floors, and louder squeaky ceiling, and random fire alarms. On atleast 5 nights that I lived there the fire alarm went off for several hours in the middle of the night. This alarm is louder than any you've ever heard so there is not sleeping. On atleast 4-5 other occasions the alarm went off during the day, and as I said it's too loud to even be able to stay in your place (I guess a fire alarm should be but not for a solid hour for a false alarm).

All that being said, SM is in the city and the city is going to be noisy and there's crime.
In the end, if you like Midtown, Downtown, Little 5 and the Highlands there is no better place to be located.

Hahahaha....that fire alarm has been having problems since AT LEAST! 2003. The response is always the same, "We're looking into it." "Someone is coming to fix it." LOL...NOPE, they're not. Hahahahaha...that's just sad. Savannah Midtown Sucks! I haven't lived there since 6/2006 and I still check this site so that I can keep as many people from living here as possible. It's a living hell.

Been here since 2005 and the fire alarm is still a constant problem.
