Last night the fire alarm klaxons started blaring. No firemen came. The alarm blared for over 40 minutes until the maintenance guy turned them off. We will be moving soon, out of Atlanta.
The good - great location (its several blocks from Georgia Tech, North Ave. train station, Fox Theater; next door to 24 hour Walgreens and Publix grocery store). Nice apartments with roomy closets.
The bad - small parking spaces, bad security, sirens from passing police (high crime area).
The Ugly - More than 5 break ins in one month's time. Fire alarms often sound at 2 a.m. (and the fire department doesn't respond due to the frequency of alarms).

OK, part of this wasn't true...the alarms didn't take 40 minutes, but *two hours* and fourty minutes!!! At least in my part of the building. From 1am to 3:40am. Believe me, I lived it.

Me too. It started at 1am and I plugged my ears and went back to sleep around 2am. I woke up at 3:30 with the alarm still balring. I'm not sure when it was finally cut off.

I THIRD THAT!!!! I called the police three times to try to get someone to come out and fix the problem and they kept telling me someone had already been out here-- I had to kindly tell them that I wouldn't still be calling if they had ever been turned off!? *2 hours 40 mins into my sleepless night*
