Don't live here!

I've read all these reviews, and while some people have had an okay experience living here, it looks like A LOT of people have had a terrible experience (myself included). So, if I were you, I would not risk living here and having one of these terrible experiences. In my first seven months of living in my apartment, I had SEVENTEEN problems, ranging from a hole in the ceiling that leaked to broken appliances. It took maintenence over a month to fix the hole(they kept saying that they would come by, but I guess they just often got too busy and forgot). Security here is a total joke. Most of the gates have not worked since I lived here. My bikes got stolen off my porch. I honestly saw someone using a credit card to get through one of the "security" doors once. We supposedly have a courtesy officer, but he's never answered or returned my calls anytime that I've called. We just got a notice that someone was robbed at gunpoint in the garage the other night. The office staff is just rude, patronizing, and generally unhelpful. You can tell that they don't live here, and so they don't really have a vested interest in the property. The hallways are dingy, and often smell because people leave their trash out. The complex also just started a 5-month long construction project - so don't plan on sleeping in on Saturdays. I've lived in a lot of apartments, and this has just been the worst experience for me. So if you're reading this, I really just suggest that you find another place to live - why risk having all these safety and apartments problems' Maybe you'll luck out and have an okay experience here, but the odds seem to be against it.

It is true that the management is rude and patronizing. Two years ago, when I was looking for a nice apartment, the young girl who showed me a unit practically RAN ahead of me all the way to the unit. After we stepped off the elevator, she took off. I was out of breath trying to keep up with her! At one point, I just let her go on and I met her at the unit. I was afraid of losing her too far ahead, since I had no idea where I was in the building. She never once looked back!
She made me feel that I had interrupted her day! Her rudeness and the fact that the halls looked more like a concrete white collar prison had me thinking twice about living there.
And then a friend of mine showed me this website. That did it for me. I was fortunate enough to find a really nice house to rent, instead.

The office staff have been nothing but professional and courteous in my 1.5 years of living at Savannah Midtown. They just has a resident event on the rooftop less than 2 weeks ago, where we won prizes and got the new property manager and other residents. There have been several new faces in the office, but I find that when you are professional, people respond in that same professional manner. Also, all of my service requests have been logged. So if they take more than 2 or 3 days to complete the order, you have the right to ask for free rent. It's stated on the website as well. There's no reason to live in misery and pay an arm and a leg in rent to live in Midtown, no less, if you are so unhappy.

I have lived here for 1.5 years as well. These negative reviews mystify me, I wonder if I am living in the same complex. All the staff have been friendly and the place is well-maintained, the repairs are logged on the website and mine are always completed promptly. I never see the trash out in the hallways, the security gates and doors seem to work.
I regularly talk to my fellow tenants and I never encounter these negative reactions and comments that are posted on this site. I can only assume that the negative posters are being evicted for nonpayment and just want to get back at the management and the complex. I agree with the previous poster, if you are so unhappy, you should move.
