I would look somewhere else

I've lived here a little over a year now.
At first, it was nice. The rent is lower than expected considering the area. The staff seemed friendly even long after I moved in. The buildings seem nice from outside. The unit seemed nice and clean.
The problem is that they seem to make up for their lower rents with various fees and penalties. They're very into catching people in action. That's understandable, rules are rules and if you break them, you pay. But the thing is that they don't do enough maintenance around here to really justify the rules they enforce. The staff, while friendly and nice, are not as competent as you'd hope. Their goal is to get people in but they don't really seem to have any other purpose. The maintenance crew does enough. But they usually just cover up the problem instead of fixing it. I don't expect a major construction job, but don't just paint the wall and say the leak's been fixed!
The gates are always broken. A lot of times, they leave the gates open over night! Yup, you read it right. What's the point of the gates, you say'
The noise level is pretty bad. There're a lot of people who want to share their loud and obnoxious hip hop music. So they just blast it through their car windows even late at night.
Let's see... also, two gate system is OK. It's not exactly convinient but it's not that bad either.
Overall, I do wish that I paid a little more and moved into nicer and newer apartments on Peachtree Dunwoody. I have friends who live in them and everytime I visit them, I realize how bad this place is. I'm beginning to wondering where all the money goes while I write this. I don't know how much revenue they're making but not a whole lot is spent on improvements and maintenance.
Speaking of maintenance, they had a very good and friendly crew going on until just recently. They were pretty pleasant. Always saying hi and smiling. The crew chief, I believe, came back to check up on whatever they just repaired. But they replaced the whole crew with some other people who are less than friendly to say the least. I wonder why.
Anyhow, I told one of my friend to go find some other place. He liked what he saw and wanted to move in. I told him no even though that meant $500 for me and my friend. That should sum up what I think of this place, I guess. Not too bad of a place... just full of annoying little things everywhere. So spend a little more and find a better place. There're plenty of them around here.
