But the building itself has a lot of problems. It's a beautiful building with great living spaces but the design was poorly executed in spots. The first floor floods if it rains too much too fast, and for some dumb reason they used carpet in the hallways which are wide open to the elements. I lived there the year the drought finally came to an end and months of constant rainfall left the carpets moldy and funkified. The elevators are VERY slow and you *have* to take them from the parking garage even if you live on the lower floors. There were several cars broken into while I lived there and one reported assault/robbery in the stairwell but I mostly felt safe. The bath on the floor above me started leaking through my ceiling but the problem was fixed fairly quickly. (I heard this exact same problem echoed among many residents and some were not so lucky -- repairs dragged on for months.) Units facing 14th get a ton of street noise, those on the inside are pretty quiet. All in all, it could be a great place if it were better maintained and some of these problems addressed. As it is, it's very hit or miss.
