Good luck getting your deposit back when you move. I was charged a $500 "pet fee" in addition to my security deposit, but when I moved out mgmt tried to take pet damage out of my security deposit, claiming that the "pet fee" did not cover pet damage. What, then, is the $500 for'!'! Certainly not for maintenance to pick up poop from inconsiderate owners because it's everywhere. If you contest the practice they'll relent, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who wouldn't speak up and the owner profited from their silence.
