I generally agree with the residents saying that something needs to be done about crime levels in the parking lot. Actually, it has been more than just breakings. I saw at least two instances where wheels have been stolen from cars (in one case $4000 set of wheels from a brand new BMW). What makes our parking lot LESS SECURE than any open-air parking in front of the building is that thieves can operate at will during the night without risking someone seeing them from the window. The lack of any attempt, to date, on the part of management to provide additional security, either in the form of someone walking the parking lot at night or security camera, is inexcusable esp. given that their only argument is that crime happens and we have to put up with it. That argument is both fallacious and shows utter lack of management skills. We pay monthly fees for spots in the parking lot which should be more than enough to hire an overnight watch guard. When we add the price business people pay to park in OUR parking lot during the day that becomes even more obvious.
On the other side I praise (alleged) attempts by the management at remedying the situation and welcome any constructive criticism and action that will result in measurable improvement in safety of our parking lot.
Other than that I find living at Sterling THE BEST EVER. You can't get a better location and all other things said about the building and/or elevators only indicate that there are some really ---- people among us.
