Location is everything

The location of this building is excellent - you really could not ask for better. It's within walking distance of Piedmont Park, the High Museum, and tons of bars and restaurants...
That being said, the building itself leaves something to be desired. While I was very happy with the interior of my apartment, I found that in general, the building grounds were horribly unkempt. People did not curb their dogs, and no one cleaned it up. The elevators smelled nasty a lot of the time, and the parking garage was dim and grungy. The pool is totally shaded, and the workout facility small and not air conditioned.
There were some good staff - Nancy and Kelly were great - but other staff members were non-responsive and had no idea what was going on. The whole theme in that office seems to be "we will not do anything to accomodate or assist you" which is not what you expect when looking for luxury housing.
I don't really know that the Sterling is luxury housing - the building is very ostentatious, that's for sure, but it is not upkept well and they do not cater to their residents. Plus, let me add that most of the residents seem to be 20 somethings just out of college who want to play loud music and carve things into the wood paneling in the elevator.
On the whole, it was worth it for the price I paid the first year there. After they jacked the price up, I moved out.
I'm not sure if I would recommend it - some things about it were really nice - I think it is just badly managed.
