Stone Creek at Druid Hills (formerly Gables at Druid Hills)and (formerly Reserve at DH)is much better under new management, with new plantings, landscaping improvements, friendly office staff, and responsive service staff. The grounds are cleaner with much less dog poop and more poop pickup stations.
I travel a lot, so I'm not here much. Yet, when I am here, I can't believe how many dogs are running loose. I cannot jog on the nature trail or anywhere else on the grounds without running into loose dogs off the leash, out of control. They are at the pool, on the nature trail, and running loose on the lawns and through the parking lots. Who wants to swim in a pool or walk around it barefoot after a dog has been peeing on the deck'
An asian man often comes down the stairs of the 5000 building with 2 dirty dogs (one dirty white and one brownish both medium sized) that are never on a leash. A blonde woman has a fluffy toy dog at the pool often. Another woman often has two white dogs off the leash near the 3000 building. A short-haired woman has 2 big dogs off the leash on the nature trail frequently. Near the power line at the end of the nature trail an asian woman lets her dogs run loose and throws balls for them. A brown-haired man lets his puppy run loose on the nature trail, and he doesn't pick up after it. On the nature trail there are lots of dogs off the leash, including 2 huge dogs that clearly weigh more than 60 pounds. Often the owners of these dogs are nowhere in sight.
The management just needs to enforce the leash laws and the 60-pound limit. As I write this, I can see 5 dogs running loose.
Staffers driving golf carts drove right by the dogs and did nothing. Two of the loose dogs looked like pit bulls. I tried calling the office twice about the pit bulls, but the line was busy both times.
Why do staffers let residents violate the leash and dog size rules & the health/safety rules at the pool' We pay a lot to live here, and we deserve a safe, clean place to live.
The new mgt is doing a great job with everything except the dogs. Hope they can get that under control.

What is your problem with dogs? Clearly not a dog lover. I understand the issues with letting your dog run off leash in a neighborhood. However, it is not your concern on how much the dog should weigh and what type of dog it is. I myself am a dog owner and do not fall into the category listed above, but a lot of dogs get a bad wrap b/c of their breed type. Remember its the owner that cant control or teach the dog proper behavior, not the dog!
