Like many residents, we, too, have been here for four years and rented under Lisa & Vicky. They were the reason we initially decided to move here. Almost immediately after we got here and got settled, they were relocated and everything seemed to go downhill. We have also witnessed the vandalism of others living here as well as the broken gate and smell of garbage. We have lived through bad management (with the exception of Patrick) and the complex going into receivership with the bank. For the last several months residents have lived with unbelieveable inconveniences but somehow we are perservering.
Now for the good news...The new management has been really wonderful. We didn't make it easy on them when they arrived. As a matter of fact, after what we've been put through with past management, we saw no reason to even be civil with them. But they understood and determined to win our confidence. We explained to them about their predecessors and what we, as residents, would like to see. They explained the new owners' vision for the place and also prepared us for what lay ahead.
Our experience has actually been very positive with this new management team. Julie and Robyn truly reminded me of the Lisa & Vicky team. Already we've been fed more and seen more "give aways" than ever before since we moved here. The construction is (hopefully) in its final stages and then the construction crews will be gone. Julie has now left the Asbury Commons family (yes, it will always be Asbury Commons to some of us) but Robyn is still here and doing an awesome job of keeping things in line. She stands firmly between the owners, residents and construction crews and takes the heat from all sides. She's truly a rock. Just one talk with her and you'll understand how much she really loves the residents. This isn't just a job to her.
Having read all the comments, we can understand where all of them were coming from. But now with all of the new and improved amenities, including THE best exercise room anywhere around here as well as the new pool furniture, this place is shaping up very nicely! And for the very first time, almost ALL of the parking deck lights are working. We didn't even know we had that many lights down there!
Honestly, give it a chance. Come in and take a look around. Yes, we still have some issues to address (including the mold problem). But if you only knew where we've come from, then you'd know how far we've come. I'm glad we stayed because this is really a great place to live.

This sounds like the new management posting bogus reviews...

I have been in this complex for over 3 years (came in when Patrick was the manager) and I have to agree with the original poster. Our complex has been thru a lot in the last three years and last year I seriously thought about moving after the management (after Patrick) tried to sell the property as condos. Ever since we got the newest magagment everything has seemed to improve. The parking deck appears safer with the new lights and all the newly renovated apartments do look modern with all new appliances (I think my yellow refrigerator and ugly old stove in my apartment is from the 70's). If I weren't moving to Virginia in a few months I would seriously consider moving to an upgraded apartment.

I don't know why everyone thought Lisa & Vickie were great. If you didn't have something between your legs they would not give you the time of day. That is why I moved!
