Frequent construction/repairs and general loud noises. If you like quiet this is NOT the place for you.

There is currently no construction going on at this property. As with any responsible management company, repairs are always being made to keep the property in excellent condition. I would be more concerned with properties that do not have an ongoing maintenance prevention and repair program. As it is, The Brookhaven is committed to maintaining the property in excellent condition. Some repairs, like replacing hardwood flooring, cannot be accomplished without generating some noise that can carry up to 2 floors down, even in a building that has excellent soundproofing because of solid concrete construction. These repair/replacement noises are generally temporary but they affirm management's commitment to maintaining the property and people's homes in excellent condition. The manager.

From a tenant, not from management: Maybe it's my unit's location? In my 5 years here,I've had noise problems only 3 times. And I definitely do have sensitive ears. 1. The construction noise I heard was back in 2007. Construction was done during the day. If you worked outside the home you didn't hear it. 2. About 3 months ago a unit was playing LOUD music one evening. I went down to talk in person to the concierge. He went to the apartment and made them stop the cacophony. 3. The CeCe Winans function mentioned in an earlier review played the music at an UNBEARABLE volume. But that was a one-shot deal. The ABBA Realty plan to use her name to attract condo-buyers is most likely done and over. I'm pretty sure that Winans' publicity company has moved on to other ventures. Apartment management has moved back into its old suite, which the realty agents took over in 2006/2007. The only signs out front now are for rentals. Other old fogies and I would be gone if there frequent construction/repairs and general loud noises.
