Horrible experience

I lived at this location for a little over a year. The first 6 months were ok- the place is run-down and the appliances are older, but you get what you pay for, and the rent is cheaper than other nearby complexes. I had some trouble getting repairs done timely but the management generally stuck by the 48 hour maintenance guarantee. I became a little concerned because of the high turnover in office staff/management (I think there were a total of 4-5 managers in the year I was there) and because the quality of the customer service began declining (I had really bad ants over the summer, possible caused by the staff dumping my neighbor's trash back by her front door when she used the wrong trash can outside and the office staff refused to come in and spray and told me to wait for pest control which was coming in almost a week so I had to deal with the ants myself, for example) but the real problem was my downstairs neighbor. For my first 6 months there, my downstairs neighbors were quiet- I never knew when they were home. In fact, I could not ever hear any of my neighbors- below, above or next door. Then, my downstairs neighbors moved, and someone new moved in. She had a relative already living in the complex, and I knew the relative was loud and disruptive from hearing her yell and from other neighbors' complaints. My downstairs neighbor was the same- dogs barking at all hours, gatherings on her porch at all hours, doors slamming at all hours, yelling outside...she woke me up all the time between 11 PM and 5 AM. She had more dogs than the lease permitted, and a bigger dog than the lease permitted. I called the office between 20-30 times to tell them that she was disturbing me and other neighbors. They did nothing other than send her letters (and I know they did because I could hear her yelling about them). They kept suggesting that I call the police (and when the office management WANTED to get the cops involved rather than handling the problem themselves, i knew that there was a real problem). Other people in the building moved because she is so disruptive and when my lease came up for renewal, I left because of her as well. I know that the complex management can only act within certain guidelines, but when one tenant's actions can drive out several tenants (and management knows this), there is a problem. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
