It is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be

I have lived here for a year, and there have been problems, but it has been a great experience overall. There is a roach problem, but if you keep your kitchen clean, it is not that bad. The roaches are only in the kitchen. The maintenance can be a little slow. Our water was turned off for a while, but we learned to deal with it. A lot of reviewers seemed to be expecting a five-star hotel. The floor plans are huge and the appliances are decent.Great Location. Neighbors can be rowdy at times, but it has only been two neighbors and when complained, they stop. Overall, the neighbors are hard working themselves. Many Reviewers seem very anti-immigrant and black. This is quite sad, because every immigrant or black I met are really nice and respecting. Our car was never vandalized and we have a very nice car. There is also a collector's vintage car parked outside that had never been touched. There are no murders and I have seen the Police only once since I have been here, which is impressive because the neighborhood is so large.
There are elderly that always sit up at the bench talking with each other. Next to the fence that encloses the building, there are honeysuckle bushes that smell amazing in the summer and fall. There are families that hang outside with their kids. It is totally worth the money and a great location.
If you are expecting an AMLI or any of these type of apartments, then you will be disappointed, but if you are open and patient and love the location, this is for you!
