Love my apartment, HATE the management!!

I've lived in my apartment for 3 years now and in that time, this complex has gone through several changes in management and MANY changes in leasing office staff. A little less than a year ago, the new management decided to renovate all of the apartments. As I live in an apartment that has not been renovated, when my lease is up at the end of this month, the management has told me that I have to move out. The apartment next door to me opened up about this time and I asked the management if they could hold it for me to make my move as easy as possible. I was told that if I could move out before my lease was up, I could have the apartment. Well, I couldn't move out early because I was studying for the bar exam. In an attempt to work out a deal, I said that I would sign a new lease on the apartment if they could hold it for me for about a month and a half. Even with this promise, I was told that the maximum they could hold an apartment was 3 weeks so that the company wouldn't lose revenue. Now how the company is losing revenue when I'm promising to move into the apartment, I don't know. Someone has rented that apartment now and given the fact that I've lived here for three years, have rarely complained, have paid thousands of dollars in rent, and have NEVER, EVER paid my rent late, I would have expected the leasing office to try a little harder to help me out. Today, I spoke with someone from the leasing office and was informed that in spite of the fact that I'm being FORCED to move out of my apartment, I will have to pay a new application fee to move into another apartment in the complex and will have to go through another credit and criminal background check because my original credit and criminal background check were done "under the old management." In spite of all this extra, unnecessary hassle, the person I spoke with in the leasing office today had the audacity and unmitigated gall to tell me that the complex "has gone above and beyond to help me." With the exception of VERY few people over the years, the leasing office staff is not very helpful or courteous and at times can be downright rude. I really don't understand why people who work in leasing offices don't feel the need to be respectful of others. Also, I've had a few disputes with people in the leasing office and when they end up being wrong, as has happened in every case, they never apologize for their bad behavior. Furthermore, my car was broken into once here and all the leasing office could say was when you live in a big city, crime happens. There have also been several robberies during the day over the last few months. So if you expect to be treated like a human being by your leasing office, DO NOT MOVE INTO THE POINTE AT LENOX PARK. I repeat, if you want to be treated with respect and to feel like your loyalty to a company and the hard-earned money you spend on rent each month are appreciated, DO NOT MOVE INTO THE POINTE AT LENOX PARK. It sucks.
