Honest pros and cons

Pros:

1. Good price for location
2. Very convenient for MARTA (bus on rt. 37 stops right around the corner)
3. Located in residential area, yet close to shopping centers/downtown/Georgia Tech/I-75
4. Generally polite management
5. Good residents
6. Very close to Amtrak station
7. I like the apt structure and building quiality.

Cons:
1. I had two break-ins in my apt. After the first break-in, I requested the management to change my locks. They wanted to charge me for it (!) but before they could finish the job, there was a second break-in; so they changed the locks for free. I never felt safe in the apt after that.

2. Train noise is a terrible nuisance, especially for apts close to the railway line.

3. Parking is limited and constricted; so if you come home late (after 9:00pm or so), you may have a hard time getting a spot. I had to park outside a few times.

Other comments:

A curious thing about the locks: They use locks that need a key to open from the INSIDE as well as the outside! This has both benefits and drawbacks.

Lived here?

I see your point. Do you live on the Deering side or Mecaslin side? I refused to live on the Mecaslin side because it looks sketchy and dim to begin with. I definitely agree to the parking. I'm usually fearful to go anywhere once I get home from work because the parking fills up quickly before 8 pm. I guess I'm at a little bit of an advantage with the train noise because I grew up around them. Some trains are much louder than others though. I can't even really open my sliding doors and windows because the sounds of trains and constant traffic are more a nuisance than they are soothing. I have also wondered about the break in situation. I can't really be for certain because nothing was taken, but I came home just last week to find my foyer light on when I could have sworn it was turned off. What is up with the "dead" bolt/privacy lock being accessible by key from the outside? Weird. Oh, and the alarm system is crappy; The battery is low and chirping- again- and they just repaired it about a month and a half ago.

Overall, it's not the best, but it's definitely not the worst. I guess they are all pretty much the same, wouldn't you say. Same schit, different property. Not enough to have me running, but not enough to have me live here for more than 2 years either. Apartment living... can't live with it, but can't afford Atlanta homes!
