To be fair, I'll give you the good with the bad:

The bad news:
1) Roaches, and silverfish, and other crawlies, oh my! Living in this apartment has been like a lesson in entomology. I am very clean and have never had problems anywhere else I ever lived...except here. The fall and winter were fine, but this summer has averaged 1-2 dead roaches a week on my kitchen floor when I wake up in the morning. The silverfish prance by, enjoying the smell of bug spray fumes. Even spraying every week does not keep me from having to clean up some form of bug species constantly. Also, you must call management to request them to spray - otherwise, they won't.

2)In fairness, I don't know how the new management will handle this, but the old management has lied regarding crime and did not alert residents even if the incident was serious. One of my neighbors was mugged at gunpoint in the breezeway a few months back. No notice was given to any residents regarding this to alert us to be more careful. Recently, I saw a lot of glass in the parking lot and called management to see if it was a car break-in. They said they were unaware of any crime. I asked if they notify residents in writing when crime occurs. They said yes, which is a lie since I know for a fact that my neighbor reported the mugging to them.

3) The parking lot, as you may have heard in other ratings, is pretty tight. Most of my friends have remarked on how much they hate my parking lot. My nice new car has many new dings to testify to this.

4) I don't know about everyone else's but my apartment is old. Even though they repainted before I moved in, the paint was still peeling in corners, the carpet was frayed at the edges, and the cabinet style is seriously hideous eighties.

Okay, enough negativity. Let's talk about the good news:

1)Price - Once again, new management may change this, but at least this one year I've lived here has been affordable. The one caveat - they do not individually meter the water bill. If you are only one person, you will be screwed. An average of $50 a month!!

2)Noise - The train is not so bad if you live closer to Northside Drive. You honestly do get used to it, and if it still bothers you, nail a comforter over your bedroom window and cover it with pretty curtains. I do not ever hear my neighbors, except for the occasional upstairs pattering of little feet.

3) Nice neighbors. I think the folks here are quite nice and friendly.

4) Amenities: Washer and dryer are included. You get a cool little balcony/patio or sunroom. There's a pool, hot tub, and all that good stuff.

5) Location. You are a $5 cab ride from midtown. My friends all come to my place to go out on the weekends.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
