I was shown a very nice apartment with the understanding that I was to move into that apartment, or one identical to it within a month. I found out that when the Assist. manager returned from her days off, she had switched my apartment to one that no one would choose, had they been able to see it first. It had a hole in the bathroom wall, no walk-in closet, a bare floor for the lower kitchen cabinets, no hallway closet, no vanity or any storage in the bathroom, no working phone lines, no working fan in the kitchen, and numerous other disparities. The worse being the massive wall infestation of foul smelling rodents trying to get to the adjacent trash and garbage chute and receptacle.

The office had closed by the time the movers had deposited my furniture. Even if they had not, I had already terminated my previous lease, had spent my entire savings on the move, and since I am disabled and unable to find employment, had no means of getting out after the move.

Despite repeated complaints by phone, E-mail, Certified Mail, to both Uptown Square Management and Lane Management, nothing was done. After several months of these horrors, I reported Uptown Square Apt./ Lane Property Management to Paula Wilborn, URFA Bond Financed Program Director, and to HUD. URFA investigator found that my apartment Check-list had been fraudulently changed to make it appear that I had viewed this horrible apartment, and approved of it.

I have been told that this apartment switch, which is legally called , Fraudulent Inducement, is not uncommon here in Atlanta. Please put me in contact with others who have been victims of this horrific crime. I have been the victim of repeated attempts to intimidate me, and after correspondence with Pamela D. Jackson.

That's horrible. Hopefully they fired whoever did that and you got out of there with a few bucks in your pocket. Pathetic companies like Lane should be identified.
