My experience with Uptown was not great while I was there, but it had a lot to do with the type of tenants.
1) My laptop was stolen out of my apartment; partially my fault, but I also blame the kind of people they let in to live in this complex.
2) I know of a man whose unit was broken into and had everything stolen.
3) My roommate's laptop was stolen out of her car.
4) Dog poop and pee all over the elevator and in the hallways... it gets cleaned up, but by the staff the next day. I have a dog, and yes she had accidents when she was a pup, but I would make it a point to take stain remover and clean the mess up myself! I don't understand the kind of people that live here!
5) The guy that lived next to us had insane dogs that barked 24/7 (no joke). He would leave town for 2-3 days and leave the radio blasting to "cover" the noise that dogs make. There was poop on the balcony and it was gross! Poor dogs who didn't have a reliable owner. The man should be contacted by animal control/anti-animal cruelty. We tried to confront him only for him to scold us.
I know for a fact that they now have a new property manager who seems to have a good grasp on what's going on in this complex. If he can get the BAD tenants out and starting marketing for good ones, this complex would be perfect!
PROS:
MARTA within 1 minute walking, great coffee shop at the corner called SIP, Taco Mac, Urban Flats Restaurants, 5 guys burgers, and my panini sandwich shop; It is right by great shopping--Target, Best Buy, and lots of restaurants in that shopping center as well. It is very convenient to the I-85 and GA-400. It is LITERALLY the same distance to midtown, highlands, and VERY close to Buckhead.
