Boo hoo--you had to call Maintenance more than once. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD! As I read these reviews (and please believe, I've perused at least 30 of them), it amazes me the sense of entitlement so many people have when they're living in an APARTMENT. People, if you want immediate attention, privileged service, and everything to bend and flex your way than you need to BUY A HOME. Otherwise, realize that you are living on BORROWED property, with at least 1,001 other people (per complex); what the heck makes you think you're going to get everything you want WHEN you want it''

The leasing office is staffed by HUMANS. That's right--regular working people just like you [should be]. The few times that I had to call for maintenance or service, I kept that fact in mind. If there are 1,001 people in the complex, my needs were no more important than those of the 1,001 tenants around me; it just SEEMS that way when you're the one who's dissatisfied. We all know, when you're unhappy, even making two phone calls can seem like the most egregious inconvenience. Even still--if YOU'RE having a problem, why not consider that perhaps that second call to the office was needed because 20 other people felt THEIR needs were just as important as yours and THEY are being tended to at the time of your call.

I lived at Stone Ridge (around the corner) for 3 years prior to moving to Overlook and, in reading the reviews, people voice the same basic problem at each place. Actually, if you check apartment ratings across the country, you'll see the same basic complaints at every place--maintenance sucks, parking sucks, appliance(s) suck, neighbors suck. Guess what people--that's LIFE IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX.

Did I have a few maintenance problems at Overlook' YES. Were they addressed to my satisfaction' YES. Did I have some parking issues' On occasion. Was there always a place to park' YES. Did I have some utility issues' A minor one, yes. Were they resolved to my contentment' YES. And you know what I did when I got tired of having to call someone to fix this, that or resolve the other'

I MOVED OUT OF AN APARTMENT AND PURCHASED MY OWN HOME. And as I look back on it now, several years, one owned house and one owned condo later' I still say The Woods @ Overlook was worth the money, a great location, and a surefire bet as far as decent apartments go. So for all you self-entitled whiners, cry-babies, first-time apartment dwellers, and childish so-called "adults": GET OVER IT or GET A HOUSE!

You need to shut the f--- up. You have no clue as to anything that people are dealing with since you have not lived here in "several years". If I wanted the responsibility of owning my own home, then I would, but truth be told I may not want to stay in Atlanta forever. I pay a premium to this complex every month to ensure that everything is in working order. The fact of the matter is that this place is in the middle of renovations, but all it is is a facelift. The issues that a lot of these posters talk about are still going to be around and why pay out the ass for something that truly is not worth it. So you say you bought a home - I'm sure it has a warranty (I hope so anyway). If something happens while under the warranty you would want it fixed, right? You have auto insurance I'm sure. If you were in an accident, you would want your insurance company to get your car fixed quickly, unless you enjoy driving around in a smashed vehicle provided it's running. Well, guess what - the companies provide thier work for millions of people and I guess your issue is important at that time you call too. As for the "humans" that work in the leasing office, no one has ever denied that; I just prefer to work with people who have common sense and an intellect level beyond high school. Get over yourself and YOUR high and mighty attitude. This is a forum for people to give their opinion on apartment communities, so give your opinion on the complex, not the posters.

Well for someone who supposedly owns their own house and hasn't lived here for four years you sure have a lot to say. Please don't give your opinion about how this place was four years ago. That is not only misleading to others looking for reviews but a waste of your own time in my opinion. All of these recent complaints about "The Peak at Vinings Mountain" have been accurate and very valid. Being forced out due to renovations and expected to pay $300-$400 more a month is a real cause for concern for most people. Not to mention that the newly renovated units are nice, but not THAT nice. They are doing renovations that should have been done years ago and now charging a premium for them.

Interesting review. It's always been my understanding that when you rent an apartment, you are also paying for maintenance on call. I don't understand your comments about how purchasing a home solves maintenance issues, unless it's the fact that you have to do all your maintenance yourself, or hire someone to do it for you. Even if you have a home warrenty, there is a service charge for each visit. That certainly doesn't sound like maintenance at my beck and call. I lived in Vinings Peak for five years and moved out at the beginning of this year. Most of the time it was okay and four/five years ago, you could rent a one bedroom apartment for less than $600 a month. My neighbors were quiet. My biggest issues started when the construction started. The office was unable to communicate when work would be done and where, and the construction company left trash everywhere, and did a lot of damage to units where people still resided. How happy would you be if you didn't know if dirty bath water would pour down from the apartment above you because the plumbing hadn't been correctly installed in the renovated apartment above you? How many times would that be okay? How many times would you expect to have to report the issue before it was taken care of? If I were looking for an apartment now, I would stay clear of any place under renovation or newly renovated. I feel sorry for the new residents that will have to put up with the noise of the construction while units near them are redone. If you are considering renting in Vinings whatever fancy name they call it now, be sure to inspect the actual unit you are going to rent, take a flashlight with you, and check for black mold or water stains in the closet that holds the water heater and ask when the last time the ducts were cleaned. Check the walls below the windows on ground floor units for dampness, and check the security of the french doors installed on first floor units.

oh please, if we could move into our OWN HOMES would we be renting at Vinings? no. All of these assessments of the complex have been valid and yes, Vinings was better compared to Stone Ridge who also accepts Section 8 vouchers on a regular basis and does no background checks. So yes, compared to that, Overlook is Trump Towers. No we were no entitled to everything when we want it, but we do expect management to uphold their end of the bargain and give good customer service in a rodent free (see: lizards) environment, which most of us did not get.

Ahem, dumb a**hole, I live in a house now and I have to say you are totally off base. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised to find you work for the complex. The fact that you sit there and judge all people who live in apts is absolutely rediculous and shows that you are an ignorant human being. It's like the person above me wrote, not all of us have those options, many of us struggle and come from lower to lower middle income families but that does not make us fools, whiners, or people who don't work hard... moron. I will tell you I have lived in apt's my whole life and never had I experienced living in an enviorment quite as poor as this, I was raised in apartments. I had my credit destroyed at an early age before I was aware someone had placed some items in my name. The reason I did not dispute these items and get authorities involved is because it was family. I have worked 2 jobs, busted my ass to repair my poor credit and save up enough to be in a house. Not everyone has everything handed to them, and by the way you speak I can tell that you are someone who simply would not understand such a concept. You speak of regular hard working people? Well kid if that is your idea of regular hardworking people then I would love to evaluate your performance at your job (should you have one) lol; please note the sarcasm there. Perhaps we can conduct an audit of your lifestyle as you just did the hundreds of tenants living on this property. You have no basis, and no intelligence. Please go f**k yourself. Thanks.

I am a consumer looking to rent. Because of this comment, I would never consider renting from this complex. If this comment was intended to help the complex out, it has actually done the exact opposite. As I am sure many others who see this will feel exactly like I do. Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

Makes me wonder why the original poster is on here looking at apartments since he/she is now in a home. I am willing to bet one of the staff members is behind the original post. Hey anonymous original poster...get back to the leasing office where you belong!
