There many things I would like to say about this "apartment complex" but I will try to keep it short and to the point. If you are planning to move in you better be aware of a couple of things. Note that the lease office will NOT inform you about any of these issues. Before I start, one more thing. When I was moving in, I asked only for a "clean" and "quiet" place. See what I got:

1. These apartments are OLD and very poorly maintained. If you are not the top floor, everytime someone walks upstairs, you hear their footsteps with this extremely annoying squeaking sound. After a couple of weeks this becomes unbearable.

2. They have serious pest problems. Now you might ask: How serious' I would say that serious: "First week I moved in. It is close to midnight and I am typing a report. Being a graduate student I happen to write lots of these. Anyways I am working at my computer fully focused. Suddenly my eye catches a movement on my keyboard. At first I choose to ignore it because my mind is totally at my work. Then for a second time I think I see something. This time I decide to take a good look at it. And guess what' A huge(at least 1.5 inches) roach is taking a small walk on my keyboard. Somehow I manage to kill the b@st@rd without getting its goo on my new keyboard. Next morning, first thing I wake up I take it to the lease office. The clerk turns to me with a wide smile (IT IS TRUE THEY ALWAYS SMILE) and says "Oooo It's normal around here. We are living in a natural environment." Well if I wanted to live in such an environment I would not like to pay 570 bucks per mount would I' That was not the last incident I had. I have seen lots of different kinds of ants, roaches, bees and pillbugs - ALL IN MY APARTMENT.

3. Noise is a serious problem. The d!psh!ts staying upstairs made it almost impossible for me to work at home. One of the tribals loved to listen to techno with very high volume. I guess he had some kind of hearing problem but that is not point. The point is I had to listen to it with him. I tried lots of things (including calling the police) but nothing seemed to work. After all, you can only talk your problems and find solutions if the ones you are talking to are human beings.

4. Insulation sucks. No matter how long your AC works ("if" it works) it never feels warm enough.

5. The only thing that is good about the apartment complex is its location. I personally believe that if you formulate finding the best apartment location for someone working at GATECH as an optimization problem and somehow solve it, this location will be the optimal solution.

My conclusion is: You can easily find much better places at comparable prices. Do not bother with this place!
