I have lived in the Columns for about a year now and here's how I HONESTLY feel about the place

Pros
1. Can't beat the conveniences of the location
2. Big square footage for it's price
3. VERY safe. I've never felt unsafe as a woman. Not one day
4. Kitchen Appliances are really cool for a complex that old
5. Love the spacious kitchen, living room and bedrooms
6. Nice neighbors

Cons
1. Because it's close to the river; Insects insects insects. There are little bugs that find their way into the apartment somehow. Spraying insecticides gets rid of them though
2. The bathroom is really small
3. The complex uses Minol as its gas provider and minol (not the columns) rate's ridiculously high

Overall, I really enjoy my stay here and urge people to be realistic about this place. Judging from how old it is, I think it's really a nicely maintained place

Thankfully the new management got rid of Minol and our utilities have gone way down, water was cut in half and gas is down too. I'd agree with most of this review, though. Price for location and what you get can't be beat. If that is what really matters, then this is the place for you. We searched for months for the best overall place and decideded here. I at first didn't want to come here b/c it looks old (and it IS) but after we saw the place, can't get much better for the money.
