I know who's complaining From: rush3 Date posted: 7/5/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007 1 response   I've been at Walton River for 2 years now and I have no plans to move. The new theater is almost finished on Akers Mill Rd and the new 2 mile jogging trail around the block is awesome. I am minutes outside of the city and as close to the airport as I want to be. Yes the buildings are older, if you need a brand new apartment this place is not for you. You'll pay a lot more and get something nicer but also smaller. The staff has always been great to me. The maintenance staff is great although I have only had one issue with my dryer vent that was fixed in less than 24 hours. The courtesy officer is constantly visible in the community with his dog (looks like a K9 dog but I'm not sure). I called about a loud car in the parking lot at 2am one night and he was out there in less than 10 minutes. I have not heard about a car or apartment getting broken into yet. My last complex (on Cumberland Pkwy that I spent almost $300 more for a 2 bedroom) had a carjacking a few months ago and cars got broken into all the time. Go to the local precinct and get a crime report and you'll see what I mean - I did and I was impressed. The people complaining are the ones kicked out when the new management came in. I saw a lot of people leave after the complex didn't renew their lease. These were the people who were the ones who seemed to not have a job and were always home and always hanging out on the front steps listening to loud music until 11 at night. The same people who let their kids run around until all hours of the night with no supervision. This complex has become quieter and nicer on a consistent basis since Walton took over. It's just taking some time to get the bad seeds out. I don't know who said there were no background checks -- I got checked. As far as needing Orkin to be on call like someone else said I don't need it but I also keep a clean apartment and take the garbage out.
