I didn't move because I really wanted to, but because the people that were allowed in the complex (I don't know if they were actual residents or not) were up to no good. For the most part, the area of the complex I lived in was peaceful, but like anywhere you rent, someone's going to want to party every now and again. It took a little adjusting when management changed a few times especially after the name change, but you could see that they were trying to improve the place. My reason for moving was safety. My car was broken into about my 3rd year there and that was just the beginning. My neighbor was assaulted and stabbed one night around 10 pm by someone who we believe was trying to steal her car. The sad thing is that we both lived on the bottom floor and I happened to be walking my dog and saw the silhouette of the guy in the distance. I went in through the side entrance which was different than the back entrance I had used earlier. I don't know if the guy was coming after me thinking I would come back out or what. But as I was going inside my apartment, my neighbor was going out and she was the one who got hurt and my apartment turned into a crime scene. I left because I didn't like the way the whole situation was handled. The office just wanted to move me to another apartment, but that did nothing for my sense of security. I overheard that an incident similar to ours also happened at the Veranda a few complexes down, but I never got it confirmed. The whole issue was just swept under the rug like it never happened and the community was not appropriately informed of what had happened, so I decided to break my lease and move. As far as the bugs, as long as the Chattahoochee is there, you will see bugs (waterbugs, roaches, whatever you want to call them). I don't think they were ramant, but I caught a few trying to sneak in through the cracks in my sliding door. They never made it very far, though. I must say that I have so many problems with my current apartment that living at Walton River was a walk in the park. I can't even remember the other negative things that happened there. For any prospective tenants, I will just say to make sure that you can see your apartment before you sign the paperwork. Make sure that the area is sufficiently lit and that the doors to the laundry areas are locked. That was the only other issue I had since I lived in a building and on the same floor of the washing area. The door was constantly being broken and at one point was ripped off the hinges. The lamp posts by my building were very low lit and would always go off when you were walking by (almost like a backwards motion sensor). Just giving my 2 cents. Happy apartment hunting
