Pros and cons

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
Pros:
1. Excellent location with regards to transit (close to I-75 and I-285), natural beauty (on the banks of the Chattahoochee), and shopping centres/movies etc.
2. Affordable housing.
3. Ample parking.
4. Good, well-kept apartments.
Cons:
1. I saw some warning notices about car and apartment breakins from the management, but never had one. There is a gate, but as with many other apts in that locality, it is never closed.
2. Cable and internet connection: For some reason, Comcast does not service this place. A different company called Mediaworks provides cable service and we found the cable internet much below par with frequent disconnects and slow speeds. Cable TV was ok.
3. Management came up with previously unannounced fees when we were all set to sign the lease agreement. These were not small amounts like $20-30, but more like $150-200 one-time fees in addition to the usual credit check and application fees! We felt cheated since in a couple of previous communications, no such fees were mentioned.
4. My experience with a couple of people in the leasing office was that they appear friendly but can be absolutely uncompromising over small issues. To do them justice, they returned the full deposit on time after we left the apartment.
