I have rented apartment at Westwood Glen for my children while they attended school at Morehouse and Spelman. I moved daughter there in January 2002 and then my sons in after she finished school. When my daughter was moving and my sons moving in, they promished to install new carpet, they did nothing to the interior of the apartment for the entire time that we were there. The manager of the resident is the best thing that Westwood Glen has, she worked with us as much as she could. She would call me to keep me up to date with important informaiton regarding water bill or resigning of the lease. My dissappointment is with the policies of Westwood Glen. We had two unfortunate events to occur in two consecutive months, we had two return checks in two consecutive months. We corrected both check on the same day that we found out that they were returned, my wife normally puts the rent money in the boys account and they write a check. Well, the boys account was lower than we expected it to be. When we found out about the check, I took off work and I drove to Atlanta from Tennesse immediately a brough a cashier check. Without asking we decided to pay by cashier check from that point forward so that we would not be surprise by the boys account. We paid by casier check for six months after the return check until one day we were running through Atlanta and we just dropped off a check in the rent box. Westwood Glen called me and told me that they could not accept the check and they charged me a late fee. In 6 years, we had never been late on rent except for the return check that I mentioned earlier. I was disappointed that 6 years did not mean anything to them. It is ashame that a company what to deal with you totally by the book but they give excuses about the things that they are responsible for doing.
Well, I told Westwood Glen that we would move out at the end of out lease, we were planning on staying there for at least three more years; however, we moved the boys to a Park Village in Smyrna. It is costing me an extra $300 per month but it is about principle. I had recommended Westwood Glen to many as regional Vice President for Morehouse Alumni Association, I will send the students to Park Village.
As a business owner, I would never lose a customer like they have lost me. But, they have the right to do what they did.

My my my, how easy it is to forget the unpleasant incidents shared between residents & management. We seem to be the greatest people when we are over extending ourselves. There is a limit to what we're able & expected to do. There are rules & regulation that do apply & thank you to our residents who respect & appreciate our service.
